A simplex is the basic mathematical concept for a triangle in any given dimension. 2-simplex is a triangle and 3-simplex is a pyramid. Higher numbered simplexes are more complex shapes which can only be represented in an abstract manner.In other words, a 2-simplex means you get 2 points to draw a triangle concept. 5-simplex means you draw a "triangle concept" with 5 points.
